January 10, 2024, at the beginning of the new year, everything is renewed, standing at the new starting point, in order to promote the high-quality development of China's graphite industry, by the International Federation of Measurement and Control of Granular Materials and Control and the China Graphite Industry Development Alliance co-organized the "East Lake Forum - graphite powder international competition and export control issues symposium" held in Beijing East Lake International Center. More than 30 people attended the forum, including leaders from government departments, industry associations and enterprise representatives.

The meeting was hosted by Xiang Qi, Secretary General of China Graphite Industry Development Alliance, and Gai Guosheng, Vice President ofInternational Federation of Measurement and Control of Granular Materials, introduced the technical development of graphite industry at home and abroad. The meeting focused on the common problems of export declaration since the operation of the Notice on Optimization and Adjustment of Temporary Export Control Measures for Graphite Items issued by the Ministry of Commerce and the General Administration of Customs on October 20, 2023, as well as the current development situation of the graphite industry. Zhang Xuwu, Deputy Director of Building Materials Division, Department of Raw Materials, MIIT, introduced the current development status of the graphite industry and the standard regulations; Zhu Feng, Director of Policy Rules Division, Bureau of Security and Control, Ministry of Commerce, interpreted the graphite import and export policy, and Hu Wei, Director of Control and Licensing Division, explained the problems in the process of license application.

The representatives also had a full discussion on the common problems of declaration in the operation of the announcement, the upstream and downstream status of the industry, etc. The representatives of the enterprises actively put forward their ideas, questions and suggestions, and the leaders of the government departments patiently listened to and answered them. After this meeting, the enterprises deepened their understanding of the announcement, became clearer about the strategic direction of the state's "control, control, control" of graphite exports, became clearer about the scope of the controlled items of natural flake graphite and products, and familiarized themselves with the process of declaration of the export enterprises as well as the key points of the preparation of the application materials, which is conducive to the better arrangement of the enterprises' production and operation.

2024 is the 75th anniversary of the birth of the Republic, but also the key year of graphite transformation and upgrading, held at the beginning of the new year of this meeting, to promote the standardized management of graphite industry exports, help enterprises to develop the international market, and promote the industry's high-quality development is of far-reaching significance.
